Considering Rhetorical Situations - Assignment #6

The rhetorical situations in both the Literacy Narrative and the Advertisement Analysis are significantly different from one another. To begin with, the purpose of my Literacy Narrative was to introduce a story of me learning English. It described the process that brought me from zero to where I am now. When it comes to the Advertisement Analysis the main purpose is to analyze and explore the deeper meaning behind the advertisement I have selected. The audience for the Literacy Narrative was only the teacher and somehow the classmates while the audience for the second essay we wrote could even be everybody. I believe that, if posted, a good advertisement analysis could find a wide range of audience from all over the globe. The tone of both pieces was much different. While writing the Literacy Narrative I focused on telling a story and making it as clear as possible to the reader. My writing contained a lot of emotions, thoughts and action. The tone of my Literacy Narrative was also more personal. The tone of the Advertisement Analysis I have written is very formal and to the point. In my writing I am describing not a personal experience, but what I see while looking at the Advertisement. It does not only affect me, and is not based on my life, but on the observations which could possibly be the same for many of people.
